Voyageur Days in Blind River - July 9 to 12, 2009
The Algoma Paddlers were wonderful hosts for the second annual Voyageur Days community event in Blind River, Ontario. In spite of some exciting weather on Friday night, followed by ferocious winds all day Saturday (which saw much of the camp blown down), we were extremely well fed, and had a fantastic time. The highlight was probably participating in the parade on Saturday through Blind River, where we even won a prize for best Service Group float! We are looking forward to next year's event, and are hoping to involve the community even more.
